The ride has a lively but corny narration. The main attraction of the ride is the train itself. The cars are pulled by one of four genuine steam engines that were built around the turn of the century and refurbished by Disney. They were also converted to diesel at the same time. The coaches are open on the side and have park bench style seating. All though there is no air conditioning, the fifteen minute ride could provide a welcome break.

If you are in fairly good shape and don't mind the climbing go for it, otherwise send the kiddies in and have a seat in the shade.

These audio animatronic creations are extremely animated although not exactly state of the art. The songs and dialogue are humorous and enjoyable. No trip to Disney would be complete without visiting this attraction. The show is about fifteen minutes long, there are seats, and it is air conditioned making this attraction a great midday rest stop. There is also a good pre-show for you to watch while waiting for the next show. This attraction recently came under new management, Lago from Aladdin and Zazu from the Lion King now own this attraction and inject their own style of humor into the show. Definitely worth seeing.

The subtropical plants that you will see along the way are real. They are kept alive by a hidden system of heaters and fans for when the temperatures get too cold.

(6) SUMMARY: A raging thunder storm and a short drop down a water flume in the beginning of this ride belie the true nature of this attraction. This is actually a very benign ride with the exception of the beginning. Once you have gone down the flume your small boat gently drifts into a Caribbean port town which has been taken over by pirates. This ride has undergone a refit. You can now spot Captain Jack Sparrow in several scenes along with Captain Barbosa. The biggest change is in the begining where Davie Jones can be seen projected on a fog screen just before the drop. The detail and the audio animatronics are excellent. When you come out of the ride, you will probably find yourself whistling the song which is played in the background during the ride. A great time for all! Be sure to look for Captain Jack Sparrow out in front of the attraction. He puts on a small show for everyone.

If you are going to go on this ride more than once, ride it at least once during the day and once after dark.

So if you decide to take in this attraction keep an eye on the weather.

After a short movie the curtain rises and reveals some of the most realistic audio animatronic figures you will ever see with the possible exception of The American Adventure at EPCOT. All of this country's presidents, past and present are represented on the stage. After a roll call in which each president acknowledges his name, President Lincoln gives a short speech. Watch the others during the speech and you will see them fidgeting just as if they were alive. President Bush also gives a short speech. A great show and another good rest stop.

(6) SUMMARY: A ride through a haunted Victorian mansion.  The ride takes you from room to room where you view ghostly goings on including some fairly realistic holographic type images that seem to be floating in mid air. Be sure to read the epitaphs on the grave stones at the entrance and exit of the house. Pay particular attention to the grave of Leota pictured to the right of this review.  Watch closely and you just might see the stone come to life.  This attraction has gone under a major renovation with many changes.  It is a little more scary than before so be aware of this before bringing young children who may have issues with this.  I have increased the ratings on this ride to reflect the changes.

(6) SUMMARY: A delightful indoor boat ride around the world where audio animatronic figures costumed in clothes styled from the country that they represent sing and dance to the attractions theme song. Although the audio animatronic figures are far from being state of the art, it is still a very entertaining ride. This is the same ride that appeared at the 1964 Worlds Fair. It is also another good rest stop. "WARNING" The theme song "It's A Small World After All" is contagious. You will find yourself unconsciously singing or humming this song long after you have left the park.  Point of interest, the third photo down on the left shows a clown holding a sign that reads "help".  This clown is the only figure on the ride that is not smiling.  All other characters that you will see have a smile on their face. This ride underwent a 12 month refurbishment in 2004 that included some new figures as well as some much needed cleaning. The only thing that I have found to be missing from the original ride is the clown that is mentioned earlier.

Unfortunately, it is still just a merry-go-round.

I rode this ride with my son who was 10 at the time and neither of us were very comfortable. My advice is that you let the children fide alone if possible.

(6) SUMMARY: This is a roller coaster ride that is unlike any other one you have ever been on. Forget loops, forget cork screws, this one is in near total darkness. The top speed of this ride is less than 30 MPH but the extra sharp, sudden and unexpected turns make the G force that you experience on this ride incredible. It's enough to pull things right out of your shirt pocket. Also, the front seat has some visual surprises all it's own. One more thing. If you decide that, after standing in line you don't want to go on the ride or you just want to see what it looks like inside, there is an escape exit just before the final cueing line that will lead you to the exit. This is NOT A GOOD rest stop.

By turning them on and off in sequence, motion is achieved. A very interesting ride and a good rest stop.

At the end of the ride you can see who had the best score.

It is a very popular attraction though so it will more than likely be around for some time to come. Here you will drive a miniature gas powered formula 1 race car around a Grand Prix course. The cars are guided around the track on a single rail. You can steer the car but the rail prevents you from leaving your lane. It's fun if you've never done it before but once you've done it, it's boring because they don't go very fast.

There are several stages located in a circle at the center of the theater. When you enter you will take a seat in a room facing one of the stages. The presentation follows the lives of a family from the turn of the century to the near future and shows how technology has changed their lives. The stage does not move from scene to scene. The room does. Once you sit down you stay seated for the entire show. The audio animatronics are excellent and the show is very good. This attraction is highly recommended and it's also a great rest stop. This attraction is usually only open during peak periods.

Skippy the test subject during the pre-show is still on hand but the show is not as entertaining as the original.  Young children may not like this show because much of the main show is in total darkness.  All in all a good show but not as good as the original. Disney has a track record of replacing attractions with versions that are not as good as the original. Example, Imagination at EPCOT.

(6) SUMMARY: Monsters Inc. is located in the old Time Keeper theater across from Stitch.  The show is set as a comedy club where animated characters from the film try to make you laugh to get power for their city.  They can interact with the audience and the show can be quite funny.  The level of amusement depends greatly upon how willing the members of the audience are to participate in the show.  You do not have to go up on stage but are put on camera and shown on a big screen beside the stage.  A cast member roams the audience with a mike so that the characters can ask questions.  You may be poked fun at so a good sense of humor is essential.  This show is still evolving with new bits and control of the animation improving all the time.  Monsters Inc. is a good show and should be seen if you have the time.

It starts next to Splash Mountain, goes through Frontier Land, turns right at the river boat landing, continues around the castle and then down Main Street where it exits. This route will sometimes be reversed. Currently, the theme of the parade is "DISNEY DREAMS COME TRUE". There are floats along with music, singing, and dancing and of course, the Disney Characters. It's a very good time for all. This is not worth seeing more than once. On a hot day try and find a shady spot for viewing about 15 to 20 minutes before parade time.

(6) SUMMARY: A night time parade of lights and fantasy. This parade is very hard to describe and still do it justice. Built mostly around Disney movies, it features floats and characters adorned with thousands upon thousands of tiny lights. The parade follows the same route as the previously mentioned parade but it is only presented when the park is opened late. This is truly a "Must See" attraction. Guaranteed to be one of the highlights of your trip.

(6) SUMMARY: Wishes is the Magic Kingdoms fireworks display. An above average display, it is held nightly when the park is open late. The best vantage point is from the end of Main Street. From there you also get to see Tinker Bell fly down from one of the spires of the castle. A truly brave sole, she slides down a guide wire to a point in between Main Street and Tomorrow Land.
